The Banner and Dutch class part 2!

I’m slowly working my way through my comic book projects and of course I’m not even close to being finished. But I am working on the assets to Solicitations, which I will hopefully launch Season Two later this year.

I’ve created the individual character poses and have put it into one main banner file. I still have to do some tweaking in their respective heights, proportions, and placement, but here they are, the characters I’ve created, in one image.

It’s really neat to see them all together. I don’t think I’ve dreamt about them yet but I have a feeling those dreams will come.

What’s been a lot fun doing this is that I really get to know the programs I’m using. I’m currently using Krita and by having to go step by step with this, figure out all its features, I’m starting to get a deep understanding on what the program can do and basically using it outside of the simple brushes and colors. Also, you learn about color guides and adjusting the file for different channels, color alphas, adjusting color levels, etc. Anywho blah blah blah I’m learning a lot.

Tonight I have part two of my Dutch course. This is the second and final part, which should get me to a B2 level. Actually, it’s a class that prepares you enough to take the NT2 Programma 2 to prove a B2 level of Dutch. Looking at a lot of the international jobs in the Netherlands, many positions are asking for a B2 level these days. If you see a C1 level, in most cases it’s the organization not understanding the CEFR level and its own language requirements for their international positions. In all cases it’s discriminating against the Dutch as a second language population. There is no official State exam you can take to prove a C1 level. The max is B2. Go figure.

Regardless, the first part was a lot of fun and we had a really great group that clicked together. Most of them are also continuing so even though I haven’t seen them for two weeks I do miss them. Hopefully we can connect a bit more outside of class this time around.

Either way, the activities are starting up again and that is welcome.

Tot gauw!

Chris
