Fire hands and donuts

This week we had our first taste of spring. There’s always this specific smell that comes with it and it’s hard to explain where it comes from. I don’t know if that smell is because I live in a concrete jungle, the Netherlands, or it’s the actual smell of spring. A scientist should solve this mystery.

There are times when I feel like I’m all over the place and I don’t know if that is a good thing. I basically have four main projects going on right now, one of those being finding a new job. However, I am starting to see a bit of completion in some of these and that does bring the anxiety down…a little bit. Also I am seriously considering starting something on my own and really going after it. It’s scary to think of doing something on your own. I feel like a ball in a pinball machine and the flippers are hitting me in this one specific direction. It doesn’t make it that much less scary but at least it’s a direction.

But I did make donuts. Here’s a sampling:

They actually turned out quite well and I was quite impressed with myself. It’s simple yet complicated at the same time. But they were delicious and that’s all that matters.

On the art front, I did a quick drawing and coloring of Johnny Storm. With the current run by Ryan North and Humberto Ramos, Johnny Storm has a huge ‘stache. Maybe I’ll grow one like this? I had this idea to do jazz hands, but with fire. Fire hands!

Stay smokin’ hot,

-Chris
