I’m well into the so called Aubrey and Maturin novels by Patrick O’Brian, currently being right in the middle of book number nine, The Ionian Mission. It’s a great series and O’Brian’s storytelling gets better and better with each new addition. O’Brian was a wonderful author who had the uncanny ability of writing in such a way that history comes alive right before your eyes and inside your head while also writing the language in such a way that it was modern enough to allow you to understand the damn thing.
So, to that effect, Captain Jack Aubrey has been living in my head for a while now and this image of him just came to me. So, I had to put pen to paper and came up with the below.
