Martian Manhunter and an Asha’man

It’s been a spell but it’s mainly because I haven’t been able to complete anything to share nor have I had any desire to impart my wisdom on the world wide web. Plus, when you’re in the middle of a bunch of stuff you’re simply circling and not really landing or taking off. In other words, it’s been quite boring. My life that is not the world, which seems to be on fire.

Here are two pieces that I’ve completed. First up, Martian Manhunter.

One of my biggest annoyances in drawing is that I will ‘discover’ or ‘improve’ on things and develop something that allows me to take the next step. But the problem is I’m already working on current drawings and pieces that when this new ‘eureka!’ moment arrives, then what I’m working ends up becoming ‘bad.’ I don’t know if I’m completely happy with the above, because I got lost in the drawing and made quite a few mistakes. But why not post everything, the good and the bad for the historical record? Good ole historical record.

The last piece of this post is a quick sketch I did of an Asha’man from the Wheel of Time series. I’ve started book 9, Winter’s Heart, and the Asha’man (Asha’men?) have been making their appearances and I couldn’t help but think about what one might look like if I drew him. So I drew this. There’s a lot wrong with the planes and the anatomy of the face, but it’s a quick sketch after all and I’m happy enough with it.

And that’s pretty much it for this week. Not much to report. Spring is coming so there have been some warm days and this thing called the sun is back.

Cheerio,

-Chris
